Dear Beloved,
Happy Monday! Similar to my last post, today’s post is not a typical letter as you’d expect, but I wanted to let you in on some of what God’s been doing in my life over the past year.
Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people!
- Psalm 66:5 (NLT)
On August 15th, 2022, I released a writeup called Two Pennies for my Thoughts which likely didn’t make sense to anyone other than some close friends of mine, but alluded to the fact that I was about to make a big move.
Well…
…a few days later on August 28th, 2022—without much of a plan or much money—I did make a huge move. I left my home, friends, and comfort zone, and I hopped on a plane with the intention of moving from Toronto to Vancouver… by faith.
Why?
Because I believe God had called me to do so.
Since making that decision over a year ago, my life has changed so radically.
I went from being frustrated, confused and lacking any sense of direction for my life, to finding a loving community, experiencing lots of healing and getting clarity on my next steps.
Not only that, but…
I made it into one of the top 3 law schools in Canada!!! 🎉🎊
It wasn’t my by power, nor by my might, but by the Spirit of God.
Now full disclosure, this journey was not easy. I had a lot of rough moments, and I cried a lot. There was pain, loneliness, and at times I felt abandoned by God. It’s only looking back now—in hindsight—that I can say that I wouldn’t change a thing about my experience.
Having said all this…
I felt led to release a three-part YouTube series sharing how God miraculously moved me to Vancouver, and the events that followed.
I know how much hearing others’ testimonies encouraged me while I was struggling, so maybe this testimony will encourage someone out there as well. If you’re interested in watching that, you can access them here.
I’ll also have each of the videos linked down below.
Important Announcement!
Given that things have been picking up in law school, and I have a lot on my plate, I have decided to go on hiatus for now. I’m not sure when I’ll be back quite yet, but it definitely won’t be until sometime next year.
I wanted to express a heartfelt thank you to all the Beloved for sticking with me. Thank you for reading, subscribing and engaging with the writeups. I don’t think words can express how much it has all meant to me. Thanks for playing a part in encouraging me to keep writing.
I’m wishing you all a great rest of the year, and I’m excited about what the Lord has in store for us next year! God bless you, and bye for now :)
Written with love,
Elsie Abang
